Rahul Gandhi in News

Book mentioned by Rahul Gandhi in Parliament

Rahul Gandhi recently found himself in the news, for mentioning ‘Four Stars of Destiny‘, an individual account penned by a former Indian army chief M. M. Naravane which is not yet published. He tried to quote from the book in a debate of the Lok Sabha to question Indian government’s approach in regard to the 2020 China–India border skirmishes. The reference led to an uproar by treasury benches, not because the memoir has not been published officially or is believed to be under review – but because a big fuss was made of it in parliamentary proceedings. In short, Rahul Gandhi is in the news for opposing BJP in parliament, criticizing Modi government, communicating with people and political reactions because of it.

Parliamentary ruckus and Lok Sabha disruptions

As Opposition parties, led by Rahul Gandhi, continue to demand that he be allowed to speak in Parliament before members of the government during debates, the Lok Sabha has been adjourned on more occasions than any time since its new tenure began. This has aroused political tension in the Parliament.

Harsh criticism of government policies

Gandhi has been in the news for his comments in and outside Parliament, accusing the government ministers of lying and slamming the handling of crucial issues.

Public messaging and outreach

He’s been sending out motivational messages and connecting with young people, like offering Gen Z advice about how to be adaptable in life.

Opinion and political analysis

Commentators and columnists are weighing in on his strategy, the tactics of the opposition against him and his commitment to challenging the ruling party in a way that speaks to how central he remains to national political debate.
